You changed to heim joint steering though the connection points appear about stock. Is this an upgrade over the ball joints or is there another reason?
Revised the whole steering system. Saginaw pump, ram assist, remote cooler and fabricated linkage.

Looks great!

Does your tire rod roll up and down?

If you notice in the photo, I have rubber bushings on both sides of the heim to keep it parallel.

Are you sure they are 1-1/16"? they SHOULD be 7/8"(I guess conversion company did not use era correct lug nuts) Who and how did the conversion get done?

Could not find any 1-1/16 spike covers but did find these 1 1/16" Nut Covers | Iowa80.com

Sorry, no luck on 7/8" spike either but here are 7/8" domed 7 8" Ford Stainless Steel Lug Nut Covers Set of 20 Lugnut Brand New | eBay

Thanks diesel_brad, Iowa80 has a TON of lug covers..i'll try and find one that'll work.

Truck was originally cab and chassis. I'm pretty sure ford made 4x4 drw in chassis cab only back then didn't they?.. if not i suppose it would have been Centurion, western hauler, or Quigley. It had a service bed until 2003, i bought it in 2005 second owner. I put the Alcoa's on it.

Crewcab pickups have a 168" wheel base with 3" wide leaf springs.
The closest wheel base for a cab-n-chassis is 161" and only have 2.25" wide leaf springs

So that tells me it was originally a pickup. And someone made it into a utility truck. Same person may have made it a dually. Does it have a true dually rear axle? How about the front? Ford hubs(that go on with the wheel bearings) or aftermarket bolt ons

4x4 dually investigation

Dana front axle

Front dually extension?

went out to investigate.... it does have 3" wide leafs just like you said. Also, behind the front wheels there is a sort of extension, but i'm not sure if that's normal for duallys? Seems like it was always 4x4, so i'm starting to think it came SRW. Thinking back, there used to be those weird handles bolted on the side, has power sliding rear glass, probably was a Centurion conv.

Yup looks like it was a Single wheel truck. That last pic shows a nut holding on an adapter. The OEM ford ones were all one piece. You will most likely find a 3" spacer that bolt on in the rear to make the rear axle wider too.

if you measure your fuel door I will tell you if the dually bed is OEM of aftermarket. Yeah I see the plugs for the grab rails and I see the brush guard is removed too. All the tell take signs of a centurion conversion. There "should" be a sticker in the door jam saying that too.

Factory front ford dually hub. Top of pic. you can see where the bolts would come thru from the backside to hold the rotor on with no nuts. and 2" spacers at bottom of pic I used between my duals

Wow, yes! The truck did have an aluminum brush guard.
The fuel doors on mine are 6-1/4" × 6-3/4".
Currently only stickers in jam are the nameplate, one in red writing about ambulances, and one about 4x4 roll-over and handling characteristics.

Brad, Where did you get the spacers? I am thinking of widening my rear track.
