Hey guys, new here, but I have a 2007 F150 Lariat Super Crew 4x4 that, in the past week, has decided to rebel against me.. Last week it was the radiator, now the sunroof.

I get in the truck today, open the sunroof and it doesn't open quite right. So I inspect the track before closing and I find a small piece of plastic that appears to have broken off from.. somewhere. I try to close it and it comes CLOSE to fully sealing, the left side sags about 1/4 of an inch, and the rear won't tilt up (to 'vent') as it should. I have googled and researched and haven't found much. All my dealer would say is "without tearing into it all I can say is it needs a new rack and thats well over $1,000."

My question is this.. has anyone had this problem? If so.. can you explain what has happened and what I am in for? I have seen threads on here (for newer trucks..) that said repairs were over $2,000. I am decent mechanically, but this sun roof has me a little uneasy..

Got the rack out. All broken apart. $1350 to replace. My recommendation? Stay away from sun roofs. I'm disgusted with this truck right now. $1850 in a week.

 

Exactly what part broke? Some parts are available through the aftermarket. You can find track rebuild kits on the auction sites.

 

After the headliner was removed the frame was cracked in several places.. And the tracks were messed up. I found the rebuild kit.. But the whole assembly was messed up.
