Wiper switch replacement

I am replacing the stock switch with a ON-OFF-ON toggle switch.

The old:

4 wires. Power wire that goes to the ignition switch, and 3 from the wiper motor. (Red, green, black).

The new switch:

Generic toggle....but only has connections for 3 wires. Power goes to middle connection, but which 2 wires from the wiper motor go to the ON connectors?

I checked the manual, but it wasn't much help.

I would think that one of the wires...usually the black is the ground. the other two should be hi and lo speeds. I just replaced the vacuum sys in mine with a electric motor out of a jeep and had to rewire it all up.

Indybeer,
Mind if I ask you what Jeep wiper worked for you? I'm replacing engine, etc in my '49 F1 and I think I read where a 1990 Cherokee wiper motor and linkage fits pretty well. Thanks!

What is the white "box" on the back of the old switch? Is it a resistor? If so, the terminal it connects to would be Low, and you'll need a similar resistor on your new switch to get two speeds.

I used the wiper motor out of a 92 Jeep Cherokee and the wiper switch out of a 88 F150. I ended up getting another switch out of a 85 F150 that has intermittent wipers. Here is a link with pics.

Wiring match up is as follows...

On the switch....Large black......Power in and Black/white stripe..
......to washer
Blue/orange stripe......Red hi on motor
White.......Brown lo
Red......Green park feed
Black/pink.......Blue park return
On motor black to ground
