1994 5.0 with too many go fast parts update

Heres the update for those of you that suggested the Quarterhorse, idid find a chassis dyno a couple hrs away that would tune it for me. BUt i dnt think it needs it now. I need to adjust the TPS again but i took out the infamous 1" trickflow plenum spacer and most of her issues went right away. i forgot that damn spacer did the exact same thing when i had my gtp heads and the stock cam in it. she is runnung and driving almost perfectly. Thanks for the much needed help guys AND DNT USE PLENUM SPACERS IN YOUR TRUCKS THEY ARE JUNK

Did you use a gasket on top and bottom of the spacer?

It's pretty easy to crack these things with a little too much torque on the bolts and then it will leak and cause all kinds of weird problems.

In any event it's good to hear you found a real problem so maybe recap what you have done and how it performs.

yep i used both gaskes. its wierd because it did it with the stock cam too. im thinking the spacer is junk. BUT to recap, i originally did a rebuild of my 5.0 . the 1st build was with +.030 KB115 pistons with a stock cam, completely rebuilt GT40P heads, and shorty 1 5/8" primary FRPP headers, and proform roller rockers. honestly she seemed to have more power with the E7 smog heads. the roller rockers failed. Aluminum flake was everywhere. I pulled everything apart only to find my rings were flash welding to the cylinder walls. i assumed it was the flake but that wasnt the case. my pistons came with moly rings. The machine shop i had went to has gapped my rings wrong and put too coarse of a hone in the cylinders. they butted together on the top ring and the cylinders filed my rings down to *****. So i stripped it completely down (in the vehicle and pulled a main cap off only to find almost perfect looking bearings. I purchased edelbrock performer heads on ebay, hooker long tube headers, and new rings through our other performance speed shop. they loaned me an electric ring filer to do the rings. when putting the pistons back into the block 1 bearing misaligned (that i didnt see ) and poof 1 bad rod cap and a snapped rod bolt. Out came all the pistons and replaced all the rod bolts. found a used rod and piston on ebay, matched the gram weight here at home and reinstalled everything again. poped the heads on with crane energizer 1.7 roller rockers to match the comp cam 35-320-8, and poof that was done. the passenger side header didnt want to fit well and looked like the frame was in the way just a smidge so i popped out the grinder and guess what? still didnt want to go. it was hitting on a heat shield on the firewall. after i pounded it in there was no clearence issue and it fit perfectly. had to make a pig tail for my O2 sensor and installed 2.5" pipes all the way out the back (series 50 flowmasters are pretty loud btw lol louder than they claim) had issues with the idle and timing till i removed the 1" plenum spacer. now after adjusting the idle and TPS she still has a little lag but i think the eec needs time and maybe the idle ,TPS needs a little more tuning. now she is a loud nastly little pig that has tons of power (both speed and towing). Im very happy with her but she still needs gears lol and if i cant get the lag leveled out maybe a little higher stall converter may help but im gonna let the eec do its work for awhile. AND NO CHIP
