must be a ford thing.
Bith the 4.6 and 5.4 share the same coils. Chevys have problems too. Lucky for us there individual, not so much on the older chevys atleast. And those who dont know the coil packs take place of a distributor. They all go out its just a pain figuring out wich one. Oh to answer a question from earlier no you cant check the voltage because it will be the same it just changes under load

well I got my plugs and coils changed and all seems fine now!
Ironically I changed out the hardest ones 1st, and if I had to guess which coil/plug was bad I would have to guess it was on the driver side of the motor the 2nd one from the front. not sure what cylinder that is but It was probably the easiest to change.

im just guessing that one by looking at the plug because it was a little more corroded than the rest of them.

I also ended up breaking one of the plugs that go onto the coil on the driver side all the way towards the firewall. the clip that holds it to the coil is what broke, so I had to use electric tape once around the coil to hold the plug on to it tight. not sure how long that will last.

does anyone know if you can change those plugs? I might have to cut and splice a new one in place. I really don't want to do that. should I solder them if I do?

So I finally got a code on the missfire. P0300, problem is that is just a general missfire code. So still not sure which one it is.
