i got my plugs in today, waiting on my coils. and my truck will not do it when i turn off the OD as well.
i talked to friend that has an 02 Lincoln LS and he had very similar symptoms when one of his coils went bad. lucky for him he got an engine code and new exactly which one to replace.
must be a ford thing.

well I got my plugs and coils changed and all seems fine now!
Ironically I changed out the hardest ones 1st, and if I had to guess which coil/plug was bad I would have to guess it was on the driver side of the motor the 2nd one from the front. not sure what cylinder that is but It was probably the easiest to change.
im just guessing that one by looking at the plug because it was a little more corroded than the rest of them.
I also ended up breaking one of the plugs that go onto the coil on the driver side all the way towards the firewall. the clip that holds it to the coil is what broke, so I had to use electric tape once around the coil to hold the plug on to it tight. not sure how long that will last.
does anyone know if you can change those plugs? I might have to cut and splice a new one in place. I really don't want to do that. should I solder them if I do?
