7 3 IPR Powerstroke Diesel IPR Injector Pressure Valve | eBay
The link shows a side view of the IPR. The tin nut holds the electro magnet on the IPR> To remove the ipr from the hpop, remove tin nut and then pull electro magnet from the IPR. The remove the Ipr with an 1 1/8 wrench or deep well socket.
I think the elecrto magnet went crazy on my 96 C&C.

Okay i thought thats what all held it in. Now do i have to drain out the HPOP or will it pour out through the IPR? Then for re oring them. its kind of like putting orings on injectors? take off the old ones put the new ones on with some oil?

When I bought my adrenaline hpop I got a new ipr from dieselsite. That was maybe 2 or 3 years ago now.

The removal of thr ipr was easy. But when I was looking at the plug orings they looked fine. No pinches or tips in them but I put the new ones in and drove the truck for about an hour and it ran great. I think it may even idle a little better.
But thanks for the help guys! All you guys always giving advice and insight on problems is why I love this site so much !

Well she stalled out on me again on my way from school going home only about an hour into my drive back. I had one of my buddies tow me back to ohio. I got it home and scanned it when cranking. i get over 200 rpms cranking. Also i get fuel from the tail pipe and i get a wait to start light. But i was watching the icp psi reading when cranking it was only at like 5 psi then would climb as i cranked. It finally got to around 6 or 800 psi and would finally fire.
What would cause the pressure to not build up like that? i tried starting the truck with both the ipr and the icp unplugged. But it still made the truck build up pressrue to start.
could i be a bad hpop? or something related to that? How can i test it. and do the gasket on the hpop or anything alont those lines go bad ?

If you remove the plug on the top of the HPOP res and look in there you can tell pretty quick if that's the cause of your issue. If it's low or empty, fill it up, replace the plug and try it. I'm still betting IPR but the HPOP res is an easy thing to check and it's often overlooked so Madpogue is right to mention it. Check that first.
Also make sure the tin nut is still on the back of the IPR and that it's snug. The fact that it was running and then quit on you and won't re-fire makes me lean away from the HPOP and more towards the IPR, but that's just my opinion.
Also, the truck won't run at all with the IPR unplugged. It will run with the ICP unplugged, but not without the IPR. Do you happen to still have your old IPR?
