Acceptable angle of master cylinder push rod
I got a master cylinder and 7" power booster from ebay. It's states that it will fit the '57-60 models and while I can bolt the bracket to the firewall and the booster to the bracket, the master cylinder will be touching the carb.
My thought is to mount the booster directly to the firewall. In order to do this I may need to move the booster toward the center of the vehicle by a few fractions of an inch to clear the clutch master cylinder.
The setup currently uses a rod and pin, similar to the factory bolt. By design the rod and pedal can pivot vertically, however, there is very little horizontal motion.
How many degrees off center is acceptable?
Mike
