An age old question finally answered

No, not the age old question (what is life?) but an age old question (what does it weigh?)
I've seen many posts over the years asking what does a cab or bed weigh and everyone that answered at best had educated guesses, some not so educated.
In my work we use 4' X 4' platform scales that have a 5000 lb capacity. So, at the end of the last job, instead of packing the scale up in our tool trailer, I had them load it in the back of my truck. I figured that I would weigh the cab and bed when I got the chance and let you guys know what a cab and bed weigh.
Well, so far, I've weighed the cab and the weight is 317 lbs. This is a completely (and I mean completely) stripped, bare cab.
I'll weigh the bed tomorrow and update the thread.

Thanks, and I am looking forward to the bed #s as well. My guess is that each door is 50 lbs or so and the tailgate is 40ish.

Yup, the 317 is the net weight of the cab.

That's a little lighter than I thought it would be.

Awesome job Mike. Here's my guess on the weight of the bed. With Tailgate about 250ish. I know that I myself and my brother together can lift and carry a bed with the tailgate. I'm thinking the tailgate is about 20-30 lbs. alone. Can't weight to see how it really weighs in. Did anybody catch what I did there?

Geez, the intake 80 lbs. that's a back breaker if having to lean over under the hood and try to lift that.

I used to use an engine hoist to lift mine. Back then I was lazy, now it's old age.
I took the easy way out, replaced it with an Edelbrock.
