When it comes to paint I wasn't too impressed with the local Maaco by me. They ran the paint on my hood and didn't fix some obvious spots before painting.

There is a local shop by me that is pretty nice, a little pricey, but for you it'd be almost a 2 hour drive.

Autometric Collision does very good work. They're pricing is fair, but keep in mind they are not going to take shortcuts to win the job. Have a couple locations in the Detroit metro area.

i will bear that in mind, thanks!

i don't mind forking out some cash, as long as it is done well - and unfortunately it is one of the areas that i know bupkis about so i can't BS meter someone telling me about "how to do it right" at a shop.

Body work isn't that challenging in the dent/scrape department. It's more a time/patience thing for those newer to it. Most everything on my Bronco is self taught, it's no where near perfect, but since I redo it every summer I get better at it.

As you live near me, I will recommend Eaton Auto Body in Charlotte. They have done several jobs for me and they have all come out well. Mike, the owner, is a very good guy.

Check out Lyle's collision. He is a friend of mine, great guy, his shop is on Grand River out by 96 and M100 in Grand Ledge.

If you want a really good job, I have a friend in Middleville that has a body shop and custom hot rod place. I have not seen anyone that can paint and has the attention to detail that Curt has. Elwood (mike) can vouch for him also. I hooked up his MG place with Curt and they are very happy with the results.

I can get you his number if interested.
