2001 F550 Door Won't Stay Closed

I bought a new Motorcraft door latch for my F550 because the door latch won't stay latched. You close the door firm and it seats well then pops loose the first bump in the road. I found all kinds of OEM replacment latches all over the internet but nowhere can I find any instructions or videos or any talk of the best way to go about replacing the door latch. I know they wear out from constant use on the drivers side, I'm just really suprised that no one talks about how to replace them. I checked every thread I could find on this issue and mums the word. Any help out there would be much appreciated. Thanks

I have never replaced one, but when my door lock actuators died, you basically have to pull it in that process.

Look for the instructions on how to replace that acutator and it should help

I know there is one in the tech folder / Excursion forum

Im cuttin a hole

I decided after taking the door apart any trying to see the latch and all the levers ect that have to be removed and replaced, Im cuttin a inspection hole in the side of the door. Ford left a couple little holes that you can almost see 10% of what your working on. I think I can cut a 4" hole in the door panel where I can at least see what I'm working on. I don't think it will cause any problems as it will be behind the door panel and it will never bee seen (unless you need to get at the door latch or actuator that is). Any body think this is a bad/good idea. Let me know...... signed big hands
