DIY Air Intake

Hi All!
New member here....
Just bought my first EX w. the V10 and am wanting to do a lower cost DIY air intake tube with a K&N on the front.
Any forum threads anyone can point me to for those who have done this?
I also see this on ebay: Ford F250 F350 Excursion XL XLT 6 8 6 8L V10 Air Intake 1999 2002 2003 2004 Blue | eBay
Any good/bads with a setup like this?
Thanks in advance!

I would not buy that one that sucks under hood air. The stock air box is fine. You could enlarge the opening in the grill area. I cut the snorkel off my 99 and added a larger one to it & used a *gasp* K&N for yrs. Probably going to do something similar to my 02 but with one of those "dry" filters. I do like this Banks system.

Save your money on the intake mods unless your doing the zoodad mod. I would spend the money depending on year of v10 for a new y pipe that is less restrictive. Other than a y pipe or headers, gears and a tuner from 5 star not much else is needed. The factory intakes on these trucks is more than adequate.

You cut a hole in the front grill so the air gets rammed into the intake.
