This could be part of the problem, depending on how many miles you have since changing them. It can take numerous light braking applications allowing rotors and pads to cool in between braking and should never involve heavy braking. How did you break them in?

Is it possible the OP didn't get the rotors set back flat against the hub? Just a thought.

The lug nuts should press the rotors on though. Of course if some dirt, grime, or something else got in between the rotor and hub...

I ended up taking it to a small shop here I've used before and one of the calipers was not retracting properly. They're replacing it with a new OEM one. Could explain why I had this issue multiple times and the dealer turned them likely just to make me happy but missed the real cause. Mechanic called the dealer to order the replacement and they also said it wouldnt have been covered after 36k anyways. Since it was previously documented I may have stood a chance though :/

I hope the problem is solved, how much did the new caliper set you back? One thing for sure, you shouldn't have any brake issues for a while, you have an almost brand new system!

Part wont be in until tomorrow, OEM caliper was about $111. They checked the front tires and perfect balance. I have good original rotors still. He said they looked new still. Guess I'll throw them up in the garage for next time since I can't return the new ones.

took mine in for its first brake job at 3 years, 35,000 miles. Mechanic told me the factory rotors didn't have enough material on them to be turned even once.
4 new rotors, 4 sets of pads and $1600. Canadian dollars later, all is good. Hopefully will last another 3 years!

Sadly mine looked new. I'm hanging onto them for next time I guess. Truck has been perfect ever since the caliper swap.

I'm fairly confident that you were lied to.

wow, bad caliper.
you can also have this issue when you have a defective hose, it will swell under pressure and when you take your foot off the pedal it will collapse the hose instead of pull the caliper/pads back. really a simple concept.

I had this issue on my previous truck, an 04 F150, and the wheel got so hot in 10 miles of hwy travel I burned my hand when checking them.
