Just turned 200,000 miles ...
So gave her a birthday present, a new stereo system. For awhile my front drivers side speaker was dead, the buttons on radio were (well used) and I was only using the rear speakers. Initially removed the front drivers door panel to checkout the speaker - wiring. Ended up the speaker itself was shorted (zero ohms), never seen that before. That in turn damaged the separate factory amp (premium sound system) on that front channel.
Anyway I said screw it and purchased a new system from Clutchfield, recommended on here. I must say for the cost, free 3 day shipping and free factory conversion cables it certainly made my day. It actually took 4 days but guess the order day is not included ... but that is pretty good considering shipping across country.
I am now an expert removing door panels and can have one off in about 5 minutes, without damage. One issue was finding correct push pins as aftermarket are available but with different style heads. Finally just did the Ford OEM thing and each front door required 5 so $1.00 each was a deal, probably spent more than that trying different part store styles for just 1 door panel.
All in all system sounds great and since she received a nice upgrade should treat me well for the next 100,000 or so miles.
