If I install a Manual choke do I remove the linkage?

If I install a Manual choke do I remove the linkage? I have a carter 1 barrel and bending the linkage and fast idle set is not working out well. So I'm thinking of installing a manual choke. Truck is strictly a beach truck so it's used may to august. So like I said just curious if I do install a manual choke. Do I still need to set up the linkage. Or can that be removed.. Thank you

I would remove the linkage to the automatic choke so it doesn't interfere with the cable for the manual choke.
