Is 2006 E-250 With 190K Miles Worth Buying?

Does it sound like a good idea to buy a 2006 E-250 with 190,000 miles on it?

I've only had a quick look at the vehicle from the outside and it looks pretty solid but for a few dings; and the owner tells me it runs great and suggested I take it for a ride; but I was wondering even if it's running good now, how likely it is to keep doing so with that much mileage on it?

The answer to your questions respectively are: Yes if you need a van, and a long time. 190k miles is the new 50k miles.

Thanks for your opinion, delgriffith. I test drove the van I had in mind, and it seemed pretty solid and I bought it.

Had we known the asking price that might have made for a few more comments---that can greatly affect how good a deal it is.

OTOH in '08 I bought an '00 with 203K miles, salvage title too---for a whopping $3800 cash. Same deal, owner told me to drive it---I did but within 500 feet knew it was a solid van. Add in it had a raised roof, was in amazing shape the cost was more than fair.

That same van now sits pretty much idle parked on the street with 275K miles---nearly as good condition as when new-to-me. I'd love to sell it but not sure I need or want to deal with the tire kicking miscreants who'd pick it to death over nothing items. Sadly I have no patience for such BS and would "ask" them to leave my premises.

Great vans for a lot of things---this from a life-long Chevy/GM performance fan!
