I broke down and bought a 2013 6.7 psd...

Hello everyone, I broke down and traded my 01' Excursion 7.3 psd for a 2013 f-350 6.7 psd... Does anyone have any tips for me on the 6.7 that I should me on the look out for. I would eventually like to change the intake and install a programmer.

Congrats. So far mine has been great. Got mine at the end of August.

Take your time and do the driving, varying speeds till you can tow with it.

A lot of the dealers do not fill the DEF full when sold so you may run out sooner. I seem to get about 5K on a tank of def.

Go buy the ford fill spout and tuck it away.

Drain your fuel/water separator monthly and remember ford has now changed the type of coolant you use.

Congrats on a great decision ! I too went from Excursions to 350 !

Having tuned everything up until now, I haven't felt the need to tune mine (YET)
I'd just be patient and drive it until break in and you learn the ins and outs...
400 hp and 800 lbft stock should tide you over for a bit

It's actually nice to have a warranty and be able to outrun wannabes even when you are towing 16k lbs

regarding DEF... I go by the truck stops that have bulk def so I can fill it @ $2.79 per gallon just like the diesel and the 5 gallons last for 5-7k miles...

Depending you where you buy your fuel, you may not need to drain you water/fuel filter monthly. I checked mine when the truck was new but it was always okay. If you don't want to purchase DEF in bulk at the pump, Walmart is the cheapest I have found. Enjoy the 6.7, it will pull some weight.

You made the infamous "7.3 Owner's Mistake" and you drove a 6.7....

From the time you drive one, you will want one. There is no "maybe" or "think about it" you just do after spin around the block in a 6.7.

That's why I still haven't driven one and bought my 6.0 instead

Enjoy that new truck! May it bring you many years and miles of faithful service!

Yes sir, picked it up October 11th last year

It sure does look like I didn't even text you, shame on me! I'll send you a few shortly.

Shame I was out of town for work playing in the snow, but we'll have to catch up one of these weekends and I'd be interested in the leftovers of your '05 Ex.

I wish I could trade my 6.7 back for a new 6.0L. My 03 6.0 was the best truck I've ever owned.

I'm sure there are some 6.0 owners that would gladly trade you, maybe even throw in a few bucks...
