Nothing much. I have to pull the right front wheel on the truck again. Dang caliper guide pin is sticking again. Might need to out rotors on this time around. Was pretty warm when I pulled into the office. If it is raining I will let a shop mess with it so I dont have to work in the rain. How are you doing Tim?

Thats what I am thinking Tim. Get a new set of guide pins from the local parts house and lube them up and put them in. Not sure how the rotor is going to look. Noticed some heat glazing on it the last tie it happened.if there is more on it I will probably replace the rotors to be safe. Hopefully this will be the last tie I have to mess with it. I need it to be 100% for Easter weekend. On the bright note I should have my cartridge box and a few other things in the next few days. They just shipped this morning. Only coming from outside of Philadelphia. Will probably get them monday.

Its definitely going to be a crazy night with work for me!
If those are your original rotors, you might be able to turn them to get the glaze off. It might be cheaper than replacing them.
Be sure to post up the cartridge box. I am interested to see how it looks.

They are the originals Tim. They have over 64K on them. I can get good rotors for about 60 bucks each depending on where I can go. I figure if they are glazed I can get new rotors when I get new caliper pins and slide them on. in no time. Besides they will have to be replaced at the next pad change anyway. I will post up pics when I get it in Tim.

Thats what I am leaning towards Tim. Get some rotors from the local parts house when I get new pins. replace them along with the pins and that should be happy until time to replace the pads.

Might as well do the pads too, Shaun.
I've been going to the ceramic pads. They seem a lot nicer, don't rust to the rotors, quieter.
You type faster than I do , Tim

I will know more when I can get the wheel off Tim. My guess is the passenger side pads are glazed since they have heated up twice now because of the guide pin. So I might have to throw a set of pads at it just to be safe. I would rather spend the extra money when it comes to brakes to make sure they are working right then not. Cheap insurance in my book.

I put ceramics on my 97 Crown Vic and 04 Grand Marquis last summer. Even though the old pads weren't worn much. Like the braking better with the ceramic. Guy I know put them on his Town Car with great results. Haven't checked on truck availability yet.

Thats good George. Probably wouldnt hurt to have a pad upgrade with the extra weight of the winch on the front of the truck.

Yeah Tim. I have always played it safe when it comes to brake systems. Easier in the long run to take my time and do it right the first time.
