Awesome Rich! Thanks so much, by doing this it reminds me that some people still get it.

On a side note, I really do like the thought of buffing it with the wire wheel. But how do you keep the wires from getting where you don't want them? I saw the tape for the fuel, but for the injector hole or the water jackets? Maybe I'm just use to a lower quality wheel. But mine always seem to come apart slowly especially it the wheel hits an edge, similar to the water jacket porting.

I asked the same question when it was first suggested by Cody. The wire from the brush isn't the only problem, a lot of crud comes off the surface of the metal when applying 10,000 RPM of spinning wire. All I can say is it's been done before and I had no problems on Stinky when I did all 8 at the same time. I did the due-diligence by applying a shop vac hose to the injector hole on Jeff's truck. You can always add air to the glow plug hole to help things along. If you have more than one cup out, apply air to one hole, with the shop vac on another - I did this on Stinky.

Really informative thread. I am driving to Missouri tomorrow to tow home a 2003 e450 with this issue. So I figure I will be buying the tools and tackling this job in the coming weeks. It is torn down right now, so I may need help figuring out where all the pieces go as well.

Might be a two day trip. Looks like ugly weather between here and there tomorrow. Rain and 20-30 mph wind out of the south! Does not sound like a good day to be towing a high profile vehicle on a towbar!

At least it will be easier to get to #8 and #7... but I'm not so sure about #2 and #3.

The information you're looking for can be found with the search "Stinky's Stick-Up"... by yours truly. The whole procedure was completely documented with photos and vids, as well as colorful commentary.

I am a bit worried about that myself. Trip is off to a bad start. Im less than 100 miles from home and had a front tire blow. Big project putting on the spare because I left my jack in the work truck! Had to drive it up onto blocks and then off of those so it dropped onto some under the axle. Now I am waiting for a tire shop to open because the spare is leaking down.

Turn back around and get you jack. Leaving on a trip like that pulling that big sucker without a jack? Not me brother.

PM me about cup tools when the time comes, before you buy, Dave. I might be able to help.

Can't believe I did that either! By the time I discovered it I was and hour and half from the jack, that would have been 3 hrs round trip. I thought about buying another jack and then just figured I did one tire change without it, I would just figure it out again if I had to.

I don't see how to do that. I think I may not have earned that privilege yet.

A couple of hours in the wind and the rain was pretty tense. I got pushed through a yellow/red light once, but once the wind subsided and the rain quit, it was a driveable combo.
