351 swap midland to windsor for TBI.
I'm getting ready to strip down my 79 F-150 for a full body off restore. I would like to upgrade on a couple things and would like your thoughts. Currently it has a 351m C6. What I'm thinking of dropping in is a Windsor TBI and manual trans, both out of an 89 F150. Other than motor mounts, wire harness to TBI and electric fuel pump. I thought about Edelbrocks conversion to the TBI on factory 351m but that's nearly $2500. Anybody see any flaws or already try that concept?

There are no throttle body injected(TBI) windsor motors so I'm gonna assume you mean the standard multi point tuned port system found in all '87+ trucks.
If you have a donor truck then this should be pretty straight forward, the EFI wiring is essentially self contained and therefore easy to remove so you just need a fuel system. Before 1990 the fuel system was a bit complicated with intank and frame mounted pumps and a resovoir/ switching valve. From 1990 on there was just a single in-tank high pressure pump so you might consider buying a later tank and fuel delivery module instead of using the system on the '89.
