86 f150 rear brake line fitting size
Hi - I need to replace the short, 3/16" o.d. steel brake line from the 'T' on the flexible line to the wheel cylinder on the left side rear of the truck. Just wanted to confirm that the flare nuts on both ends of it are the same 3/8-24 thread.
I know that's the size of the wheel cylinder's thread but is it the same on the 'T' ? It's kind of a pain for me to go up and down the mountain to the parts store so I wanna get it right the first time.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info guys. This truck is a rustbucket that spent it's entire life until a year ago on a damp gravel driveway and salty roads in NJ - most likely the flare nut is gonna be destroyed before it comes out so not much chance of re-using. I'd heard that later trucks have different size flare nuts on either side of the T... is that the case with an 86? Guess I'll have to pull it apart and make sure.
Normally I'd just replace the old flexible line as well but I don't want to open a whole can of worms ($$$) cause like I said it is rusty and from the looks of it, the side of the flex line that attaches to the main steel line is not gonna come apart easy either - hate working on rusty vehicles' brakes!

But you should replace the rubber line AND the steel ones.
Thought I'd replace just the wheel cylinders two weeks ago...
Then just moving the lines a bit, Shure enough, long line started leaking.
Futzing with he bleeder block, the shorter one did too.
Didn't realize the shorter one has a bigger fitting...back to the auto parts store.
Ahh, victory, until bleeding the brakes the seem at the rubber line could not handle the "new" pressure, back again for the rubber line.
Just get it all. really. Make is a 3 hour task instead of three days and two more trips!
