My 64 wheel tubs are different on each side.

Hey. Do you have any tips for getting my hood to come down level at the cowl? Yours looks pretty dang good! I have already got the hinge almost down to lip on cowl and not much more room. Original hinges. My hood sticks up maybe 1/8 to 1/4"....

Can kinda see it here but more so on the body line at bottom of hood.. Any suggestion are appreciated.

Skid the truck looks great! Are your bumpers original pieces or repop. If so where did you buy them?

look at where the hood hinge bolts to the hood , you will see at the front bolt the hood brace is starting to crush in just a bit , just 1/16 of an inch of it crushed in will cause almost a 1/4 inch difference when the hood is closed because it prevents the hinge from lowering to its full amount . add a large diameter fender washer between the hinge and the hood on the front bolt only for a temporary fix . more permanent fix is to repair the hood brace . This it most times cause by a tight hinge or rusted up hinge and forcing to close instead of fixing the hinge problem .

RMK73 I used replacement hinges from LMC truck. My old hinges were shot and the hood sat up about 3/4 of an inch before I tore it apart. You could push the hood down in the back and it would just come back up. Pivot point holes were oval. I am not happy with the way the new hinges work. Springs are lighter than original and 1 hinge is stiffer than heck and the other has a lo of slop in it. I found a set of brand new NOS hinges and am going to put them on this spring. They are a lot better quality than the china knock ofs. We had to modify the holes and use shims to get it to look as good as it does.

salf100 the rear bumper is a repop from Dennis Carpenter as the truck was ordered without a rear bumper. The front is the orginal bumper that came on it in 1964. Probably going to get it rechromed in the future.

Thanks for the info guys! Gonna try the quick fixes first and see what it does. My hinges have a little slop but are nice, rust free, and painted body color so no rush to replace just yet but I'll look for NOS when I do. Thanks again

Seeing your truck and the way it has turned out makes me want a styleside bed to put on mine and turn my flareside bed into a paint matched pull behind trailer
