The industrial engines came in both 239 and 337 cid. Regardless of the cid, the industrial engines were basically the same as the car/truck engines. Most industrial versions had a governor on them.

Unless it's been removed, a true industrial engine will have a tag identifying it as such, at least from what I've seen.

Mercury trucks did not have Mercury engines (strokers with 255 ci). They are the same Ford engine as F-series. There is one exception but it's a bigger truck (F-5 as I recall).

The way prices are going lately, I wouldn't think twice about $2k for the package. The pump motor might get you on the road but in my experience they got little maintenance and are frequently just old car engines from the boneyard.

Near Humboldt. The Ford box is about the same as the Merc.

Don't know yet. The owner is away for another 2 weeks. His son filled me in on the details.

Start researching replacements for the 8 bolt split rims on that M68 that you will not be able to reuse . Also the 14 inch rear drums are not being reproduced .

Would the Ford axles work as swap, and are brake parts available for them?

The M-68 is the 3/4 ton Olweldinrig. Also see that is the Yosemite green with black fender combination like my M-47. Looks like a good one in the pictures. Good luck with the purchase. Old Merc should be able to give you good advice on your truck.

That ones of gramps was green and black too.I had a real addiction for Shiney parts when I was a kid, I think I have all the hood trim and the hard to find plastic radio delete in a Tupper ware container in mom's basement.Probably got in trouble for that yrs ago but at least I saved the plastic from the sun.

Yup Olweldinrig, finding a Mercury radio blank out plate in good condition is tough. I found one after lots of searching. Was actually easier to find a radio.

In Canada the M-68/M-3 was called a one ton. In the US they called it a HD 3/4 ton.

As far a dual tires the Truck chassis parts catalog lists part numbers for 1951-52 F-3/M-3 but not in pickup form. Shows standard 8 bolt rim in front and 6 bolt dually rims in back. I've yet to see if one actually exists though.

Out here you'll find 5 one tons to 1 half ton. There is very little interest in the one ton stuff. I've tried to sell spare parts for dirt cheap but no one wanted it.

Maybe it's a rare one, I am sure it had duels, no box and a wooden grain boxand hoist.
