Value of used ZF5 and BW1356??

What's a used ZF5 and transfer case in good shape worth? I'm going to look at some parts and was thinking of grabbing them as spares.
I just got my 89 F250 in December and it won't shift into 4L. I don't know yet if it's just the linkage seized up or bigger issues. Regardless, I was going to rebuild the used transfer case while still using my truck, then swap it into my truck and keep the ZF5 as a spare.

The seller offered me a set of F250 diffs, the ZF5, and the transfer case for $500 Can/$450US. But I don't think I need the diffs.

The guy is also asking $200 for a running '79 460/C6 and $200 for a 302 dealer crate motor with 50K km/ 31K miles. Just wasn't sure on value of the ZF and BW1356. I was thinking off grabbing the 460/C6, 302 and the ZF and 1356.
Thanks.

Thats a damn good price on a ZF5 and transfer case (if it is indeed the diesel bolt pattern) Throwing the diffs in... hell I'd buy that right now if it was near me!

This is my first diesel truck so I wasn't sure on the value of the parts.

It is an IDI diesel bolt pattern. The diffs, 1356, and ZF5 all came out of a rusted '89 F250 that popped the head gaskets. He also has an '91 F350 2wd IDI pattern ZF5 for $300. I original was going to look at a 91 F150 he has for sale with a 3" body lift and 6" suspension lift. He was asking $1500 for the truck and the 31K 302. Maybe I'll try and grab everything in a package deal seeing what the ZF5's are worth.
Thanks for the advice guys.

I'd pass on the 2wd for $300 unless you need one, that is about what the going rate is, but the 4x4 ones go for around $1000 like someone else said.

I wanted to build a 7.3/ZF5 2wd tow rig so that's why I wanted the 2wd ZF5.

I went and looked at all the parts and made a deal. The guy wanted the stuff gone and gave me a great deal on a bunch of stuff.

For $2000CAD/$1800US I bought:

A 1991 F150 302/5speed 4x4 Ex-cab with a one year old Rough Country 6" lift kit and 3" body lift. It has 300K km's/186K miles on it, the cab corners are shot and the wheel wells were opened up to accommodate 44's but it comes with a complete extra mint front clip, aluminum rims and decent tires.

The 31K mile 302 Ford crate motor is in a 90 F150 2wd reg cab that has no box so he threw in the whole truck. It was put in by Ford as a Ford crate 302 long block so I'm hoping it's a roller block.

The complete drive-train out of a 91 F250 (front and rear diffs, 1356, 7.3 with blown head gaskets and the 4x4 ZF5.

Miscellaneous parts include a complete rear end out of an F350, used 7.3 rad, 2wd ZF5, and possibly two 6.9's(one is seized and the other was running when stripped out of a rusted F250) but he might keep them.

I also got a 1984 T-top Trans Am that is in pretty solid shape except for the drivers side floor and dented drivers door. It has the crappy 305 but I have 75 Vette 350 and Super T10 to drop in it.

i would have to say you got one heck of a deal, as long as you have someplace to put everything and the time to part it all out.

We have a place in the country with 12.5 acres so space isn't an issue. The F150 and Trans Am will make a Baker's dozen of "projects" in the yard. As long as the wife doesn't kill me I'm good.

i just got done playing with a firechicken.
the neighbor got it real cheap because of an intermittent shut off that no one could figure out.
i tightened up the ground connection under the driver seat and took it for a 20 mile drive.
no more fuel pump shutting off because of a bad ground.
