First Drive 2014

Alright folks, while the weather and truck readiness may be an issue for some of us, eventually a few will get on the road. Let's build a collection of first drive pics for the year. I don't care if the drive is 10 feet and requires you to make engine noises. Get a pic and post it. It'll be a kick to see our beauties at the end of the drive, at the hardware store, getting us to work, hitting the coffee shop, or whatever.

For those who aren't weather or readiness restricted, taunt us with your next ride. Those of us in the chillier climes will live vicariously until our time comes.

It's a link to my blogspot page, and a pretty poor quality clip at that, but it was my first drive in the truck since buying it many months ago. It has taken me too long to get it this far, but she is getting closer now to being registered. Tell you what, she went ok! Nothing fell off or broke down! I'm stoked!

Travellin' with Dorothy : First drive in Dorothy! WooHoo!

It all happened this morning, too!

Peter, I love it. That's spot on. Knowing that your truck is an old tart adds to the charm! Well done.

Fired up Arlo today - first stop was the old mill.

Felt good to hit the road for a bit and let the old girl collect some more thumbs up from passersby. Now, for a scrub, wax, and a good buffing.

Not only the first drive in 2014, but the first drive since 1972.
Needless to say, this was an exciting day.

That is my 15 year old boy. He wants it done so he can drive it to school.
My 9 year old daughter really wants a ride. Next nice weekend that we are home, I will need to take it out again.

I can't wait for that. I will need to drive her down to Bolivar to visit my parents in it, the on to a tour of Southwest Missouri.
