Bolt in engine cross member for a 400

Alright so i have purchased a 1979 400 from a lincoln continental I want to put it into my 1960 ford f100 heres the thread to that https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...1960-f100.html

Now i have been having problems with mounting the motor to a engine cross member i have already purchased from speedway motor for the 351m 400. The crossmember eyelet center to center is 17" apart when the mounts on the motor are 19" apart. So i tried some different engine mounts and i got some for a cleveland the 2 hole kind when mine are the 3 hole yes i know not the right mounts. If i have the mounts upside down they are 13.45" part and the right way up they are 21" apart, i can not seem to win here.

So my question is what bolt in crossmember have any of you guys used before? I don't have a welder and i don't have the money to bring it any where. that why I'm doing the bolt in. Can someone please point me in the right direction and help me here.

Thanks Alex

The engine I stripped of the unwanted

Thanks for looking

Did the Speedway cross member point out that:

Passenger Car 400's (1971/79) have a shorter extension housing and output shaft than the 400's installed in 1977/79 F100/350's, 1980/82 F150/350's.

Passenger Car 400's use different front/rear rubber insulators than the ones used in these trucks.

Yeah it said nothing about that. Now if I get 400 truck mounts from a 1979 f100/350 for the cross member should it solve the problem?

Don't know whether the genuine Ford truck mount will work, since it's being installed in a 1960 with an aftermarket cross member.

351M same engine mounting parts as 400, both were introduced in 1977 F100/350's, 2WD's use different mounts than 4WD.

1980/82 F150/350 351M/400's use different mounts than 1977/79.

I have a 400 on an engine stand and the 80/82 mounts laying on the floor. I can install them and measure things if need be, but need to know what to measure. Or, how you are measuring.

That would be awesome. I am measuring from center to center. I measure it with two people. I'm on one side and I have some one on the other side to get best measurement. Line it up with metal rulers from engine mount holes to tap measure.

Sorry, I don't understand. Are you wanting to know how far apart the studs on the mounts are?

Ok. Got it. But probably won't get to do it until Saturday. Should be easy as the pan is off so measuring won't be hindered.

Here's a shot of how I measured, just so we are on the same page. The 2" and 17" marks were exactly above the base of the stud, so it is 15" from flange-to-flange at the stud. Is that what you needed? If not, let me know and I can measure your way.

Welcome. Let me know if you need anything else. This block will be on the stand for a bit so any measuring is easy.

Does any one know where I could buy perches that can bolt straight to the frame? I will measure the distance between the frame rails. I believe it is 36" apart.
