Not an expert on Ford motors and have seen a lot of referance to Dove heads, both on this board and local papers.

I'm assuming they are the 'better' heads to have on the 460.

My question basically is....what's so great about them and how can I identify them

 

They have D0VE casted on the side near the spark plugs.

I would really suggest just scroll down each page on this forum opening every thread that has D0VE in the title.

Access to the next page is at the bottom of every page.

 

DOVE-C heads have smaller combustion chamber that will raise your compression. It will raise you from (ex) 8.2:1 to about 9:1.
