6.0 No Start

6.0 No Start
2005 F250 6.0. A few days ago, I was in a hurry and I started my truck (cold) and placed it into reverse quickly. The truck died and I cant get it started again. When I crank it, it acts like it wants to start up then dies almost like its fuel starved. I checked the fuel cut off switch and it was not that. I also opened the top fuel filter container and it seems to be getting fuel. Anyone have any ideas??

did you check fuses? Do you have some kind of Scan Gauge? Try starting with ICP unplugged?
Actually, I believe there is a "No Start" sticky just for the 6.0's in this section..... After doing above, take a moment to go through their checklist. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...condition.html

There is a few things that can cause that. First thing that comes to mind is the IPR. Last year I had mine go with out warning. Check the tech folder for troubleshooting no start condition.
If the IPR is suspect, and you can get to it, check the screen. That is what went on mine and caused the truck to shut down and not restart.

See post # 74 with photo of the failed screen.
If it is the IPR the thread includes a LOT of info about how to get the part!!

I have never used Dashboss, only ScanGaugeII, so I can't help you there
But I found this link... it may help?..DashBoss used with a Ford PowerStroke 6.0 and external sensors

Ok, I got my dashboss to work. Here is the data.
FICM SYNC = CC FICM
FICM Voltage= 48.50
ICP (key on) = 1300-1400
IPR =49%
The IPR numbers jump around as I am trying to start the engine but then settles at 49% jump to 84 then back down. Key on engine off IPR is 15%. Not sure why the the FICM SYNC says "CC FICM". Also, the FICM Voltage goes down as I am trying to start the truck. I guess that is normal?
Anyone have any ideas with this new data. Thanks for the previous replies.

IPR should be about 10%-15% KOEO about 84% when cranking
sounds like IPR may be an issue or at least partly.
FICM is spot on voltage wise. A OK there
FICM SYNC = CC FICM could mean that it's syncing like it's supposed to. CC = Crank and Cam sensors? but like I said, I am unfamiliar with Dashboss

No worries, as far as FICM voltage goes, that is No Good. I don't know what the threash hold is on the minimum voltage that the truck will still start/run at, but that doesn't look good. Hopefully some of the 6.0 wizards will jump in here. Don't think that is your entire issue, but it's not helping.

It really shouldn't drop below 47 volts.... possible issues could be a failing battery (check both independently -best to take out and make a trip to local Advance or Autozone and they'll bench check for free using load tester for more accuracy), check your grounds and make sure your battery terminals are tight (unable to move/twist by hand).... Still have the same readings with the FICM you may want to shop around or rebuild what you have. FTE has a member who rebuilds them (Ed from FICM@repair.com). Hopefully some of the others will chime in too and add whatever else I or Mr. Nobody left out.
