Wireless OBDII - MPG Gauge for $12

Just stumbled on these things ($12). You plug it into your OBDII port in your vehicle and it wirelessly sends data via Bluetooth to your Android phone. The phone program is free...called Torque. You can set up various gauges in analogue or digital.

This is great for me because I have older vehicles that don't have a gauge for mpg.

It will read fault codes and reset them.

Not that I'm interested, but it can track your 0-60 or 1/4 mile time and all kinds of other stuff. And it's easily moved from one vehicle to another.

You can set up 7 different pages of user selected data.

Here's a screenshot I took 5 minutes after I took it out of the box.

I tried it on the focus for kicks.

Elsewhere here on FTE there's mention of that app----its interesting for certain.

I'm too old school---"need" analog gauges to tell me what's happening! Plus I don't and never will own a smart phone.

That is the coolest thing I've ever seen! I wonder if it's good, or just gimmicky..

For $12 its not a huge gamble---even though I'm mired in the Dark Ages it'd be interesting seeing how well it works for others.

EDIT: Found this on the V8 Modular Motor Forum, latest post this date shows this device in real-world use: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...y-shudder.html, Post #9.
