Battery Drain

I have been having trouble with battery dying If I only drive it once a week. Brand new battery still doing it. Just wondering how much current is needed to power computer when vehicle is turned off. I measured current draw at battery and I am showing .35 amps. I removed horn relay and draw dropped to .12. Odd since horn hasnt worked in years. Harness in steering wheel disconnected. Just wondering what kind of current draw I would see at the batter on a 1996 f150 5.0l v8. 2 wheel drive with ignition turned off.

Barely anything, surely not .12 amps. I would go through the fuse and pull each one til you find the other current draws.

Sounds like horn relay was stuck(or your horn button is) and the horn itself was shorted and drawing power.

You should see a 0.05 amp draw or less when the EEC is at rest.
