1987 f150 only runs 65mphs

i have an 1987 f150 with 5.0 engine it only runs around 65mph had timing chain in stalled but its has no power. its seems as the tranny is not pulling as it should can anyone help me

Check the timing. Sounds like it is way off. Also if you are pushing it hard just to get to 65 the tranny isn't going to upshift like it should. What are the engine rpm's at when you are at 65?

Ya know i just had the same problem with my truck i had installed a new cap and rotor and accidentally messed up the firing order and i had the same problem i just put em back in order and now good as new
