Check out my 1976 F250
So I finally got my truck from Oregon. I live in Ohio and wanted to get a "western" rust free truck. So I bought this about a month ago then had a horrible time with my shipper to get it picked up and brought here. But it came yesterday and i'm happy with it. Its unbelievable how rust free it is, No bubbles in the paint or rust underneath at all. Its original paint and in pretty good shape. And i love the mud flaps. 460 Automatic AC- Both tanks work.
The bed tool box is locked or jammed up. I got a key that seems to fit in there but cant turn it. Anyone know how to unlock one or what would be the best thing to do there?

As complete as the truck is, it's odd that there is no AC compressor or lines. Otherwise, very nice. Looks like it just needs cleaned up a bit and good to go.
The toolbox, unless someone else has a trick, a lock smith might be the way to go. I wonder if another toolbox key would work, but if yours fits, it might just be the lock is stuck. You could try to spray some wd40 in the lock and let soak. I know my suggestions are simple ones, but sometimes it's the simple things we forget. There is no way to take the door of without it open or to even drop the box.
What's that coiled up brake line for on the drivers side inner fender?

Bucks, that is probably running to an old Kelsey-Hayes trailer brake controller. Pretty common on older rigs where I'm from. EDIT: After looking at the pics again, you can see the controller on the lower left side of the dash.
That is a very nice '76. The interior looks to be in really good shape. Heat and intense sun takes it's toll on the interiors in Texas.

Love the truck, it reminds me of my first. It looks really familiar. Was it on ebay?
As for the lock, try spraying wd40 in the locks and shaking it around.
I just bought a nice 75 that's been garaged for years. It's in great condition but I had lock trouble. The passenger side key/lock, the passenger inside door handle and also the toolbox lock were all locked up. They wouldn't t budge. I thought I had a serious problem.
I drove the truck for a few days and continued to work on em. Finally, they broke loose with some wd40. Now they work perfect. After that I wd'd most of the truck
Just an idea

Question--
Is there any easy way to tell if a truck is at say 46,000 miles or 146,000 miles? I tore off the engine components to get sand blasted today and when I took off the valve covers I couldn't believe how clean everything was. The covers have factory paint and stickers. The valves are clean as can be. I don't think that it was ever rebuilt. And the truck has original paint in good condition. could it be a low miles 46,000 truck? or just well maintained?
