My Local Ford Dealer is saying it's my Phone. They can't duplicate it when I am not there. Turning the Radio off then back on will fix it then and there. If I make a call as soon as I get in then end the call the radio will play. It is Intermittent. Pain in the a$$ for a Platinum owner. My 2011 Ford F350 and Fusion were not an issue; nor with my new VW Passat. Nor on the rental Ram Truck.

 

Interesting ..well I just changed phones so I guess we will see if it is the phone then.

 

I changed phones and the problem continues. I was told today by my dealer to take the truck and not pair any phones to the truck to see if it continues. WTH! I bought a truck for the hands free operation of the phone and radio. I did convince them that the issue is not the phone. I will leave them a phone so that they can duplicate the issue.

 

My 2014 has the intermittent sync problem also, every once and a while, it just turns itself off. My phone is also an Apple iPhone. Hasn't happened enough to figure out a pattern, though, but my truck only has 7K miles on it.

Funny I came to these forum looking for an answer for this same problem ( not really a problem but more of a nuisance). New 2014 250 Platinum here. Dealer told me he has had a few report this problem and Ford not giving good answers. Figured Microsoft would need to release a patch, but Microsoft and Ford are in talk about the future of its relationship so who knows.

 

Mine happens at start up, I shift it into reverse and the camera comes on and the phone connects and it locks up the radio. If I wait a Minute to fully sync prior to shifting into reverse it works fine. Played with it last night and this morning prior to turning it into the dealer for repair.

I did get the tech out there in the truck and showed him how to repeat the issue. He and the Ford Tech Rep could not duplicate it yesterday without the phone. It will lock up even if the phone is shut down.

The Ram 1500 from Enterprise with the hemi is fast but that back seat is for kids not like a Ford SD full size 4 door.

 

The Tech has now duplicated it and called in the ford Tech Boys for help.

And They thought I was pulling their third leg

I had to stop by the dealer to get something from the truck. Service Rep Chris says he was about to call me to inform me that "The Ford Engineers are aware of the issue At this Time. They (engineers) are working on the fix" The Truck is ready for pickup.. Not quite because it is still dirty and needs a wash. I also need to burn some more gas out of the Ram 1500 with a Hemi. Easy to do cause she is a little quicker on the gas than my Skinny Girl.

 

Ford Came out with a fix for this issue. I was notified by my dealer on Tuesday after I called him and left a message. Took the truck in to them today and an hour and a half later my truck was vacuumed, washed and the radio was working correctly. They installed new software that fixed my problem.


The Radio will now play when I have a phone paired and I start the truck and then Shift out of park right away. Took them 7 tries and about 14 days of Car rentals to fix this. SOB!!!!!!!!!!
