1996 7.3L needs some TLC

Hey I appreciate the reply on that. So anyway I think I've now called another problem. I fixed everything so the truck will start in the cold Without plugging it in or either And I think now I have shoved the seals out of the oil cooler. I am leaking oil profusely.

I have not had a chance to look at it yet. I had changed the oil cooler about a month ago. After market again! Made in china stamped on the side of it. I guess I should KNOW better. Anyway I will take a look this weekend after I get back, on the road now in company truck. Keep ya updated.

They look the same all around except for the lineup ears. The OEM has flat ears and the aftermarket has round pins. I should have know better because the large o-ring did not fit snug around the new cooler, little loose. Grips me because that thing was almost 400.00 Bucks, It did snap into the mounting housings good, but I waked away after installing it thinking it should have fit tighter. I still have the OEM cooler back at the shop 5 hours away. I thought the cooler may have been plugged due to engine running a little warm and come to find out the fan clutch was bad, replacing that this weekend also. I have had it with aftermarket parts, I can get them quick but you roll the dice.

Quick silly question from a very slow old fart that recently aquired a 97 Cab & chassis (that'd be CC, right?) w/big ole service body including winch.
Now on to the first silly question. "Why do all posters when referring to a part they were working on use just the initials? No problem obviously with the people who are familar with the machinery and so it is really my problem, right?
Actually have a coupla other questions and since you have become more familar with the delete button from reading the first question I'm plodding on!
Is there a list of abbrevs. on this site or elsewhere I can refer to since I've never worked on any diesel so all of the information here is requiring a lot of time to decipher (again, my problem!)
Final silly question related to the above. What is a "CPS"?
This may be the fix I'm looking for since my truck and the truck described were obtained in much the same manner and symptoms are much the same but different. See! Told you I was a silly old fart!
I think if I might get an answer to any one of these questions I'd be a h___ of a lot better off than I am now so this post comes!

This should help:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...finitions.html
CPS is 'camshalf position sensor' also called CMP. If it runs like crap, this is a cheap fix. Most important, get one from Ford or Internatiional, the parts store ones are junk.
