finally turbo install

So I finall have a weekend to install my new/used turbo I've got a early banks non wastegate.. so what kind of boost do these typically put out? My pump is fresh with injectors, new head gaskets (6.9). I was hoping to stay under 10 pounds because the engine does not have studs. The turbo has banks stamped on it.

What do you guys think?

My understanding is that Banks designed the kit to stay at or below 10psi, for the non-wastegated at least. I have a non-WG Sidewinder and the most I've seen is 11psi, and even that was just for a flash.

Does yours make decent power when pulling? That's the main reason why I'm doing a turbo. I only pull around 5-6k so really nothing heavy

with a muffler you will only see maybe 8-10 lbs boost. with open pipes and the 5 speed i would regularly see 15+ lbs pulling hills at 30,000+ lbs
flat road with no load was good for 12-13 lbs full throttle.

I've got 4" now with a mbrp muffler. At best the heaviest I'll ever pull would be 10k

My truck lives a pampered life now. The most I have ever towed with it are 4 sportbikes and a bunch of gear, so it's not exactly what I would call 'being worked'. Also, I purchased the truck with the turbo installed, so I wouldn't have a baseline to compare it to NA vs turbo. But, so long as the revs are up, it doesn't seem to care. EGTs can get up there a little on long grades, but power is there.

I have pics of mine I can load later. The computer I'm on right now isn't photobucket-friendly. Were you looking for pics of the turbo specifically, or the whole truck?

Any ideas where else I can tap in for oil pressure? The head is completely rounded off now, I have been using heat and a really good set of knipex channel lock.... Still no luck whatsoever
