Nevada May BS Thread

Good morning and welcome to the month of May. Sending birthday wishes to anyone with a birthday this month.
I've got nothing new and exciting to report on my end. I'm just enjoying the warmer weather we finally are getting. Jimmy found employment and we have health insurance again so now we can get our Medical needs up-to-date.
I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

It's good to hear things are looking up out there.
I've been working on the motorhome when I can, getting a few details sorted out and changing all fluids.
Things were going well with the coolant, diff, trans, so I expected the oil change to be easy.
I was wrong.

Stripped and sad. Are those impact marks on the head?
Luckily the pan threads were fine so I took the opportunity to put on at Fumoto Valve (F106N) to make the next change less messy since it's probably going to be in a parking lot somewhere.
I hope everyone else's projects go smooth!

New guy

Hello Nevada chapter. I just joined the forum and I’m hoping to join the Nevada chapter. I recently purchased a 1968 F100 to restore with my son. This is our first restoration so I have a million questions. We are tackling the fuel system right now and when that is done I was going to move on to brakes. It’s a manual with drums all around right now. My initial thought is I would like to upgrade to power brakes and swap the front drums for disc. I’m thinking of trying to find factory disc spindles and beams from a 73-79 f100 to do the disc conversion instead of using a kit. And then replacing the master cylinder with a disc drum and adding a booster. I would love some input and opinions on my game plan.

Thanks, I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Northern Nevada. I’m in sparks. The truck is not much right now but she will get there. I’m just about finished with a new fuel system. (Tank, sending unit, filler neck and fuel lines). Then on to the brakes.

Hello Guys,

Tennessee Trucker here. Work will have me in RENO-Sparks this week. Anything interesting for an OLD ford truck lover beyond the Museum and maybe Summit Racing retail store?? Thanks

I’m fairly new to the area myself but I think that about sums it up as far as anything related to automotive. I have yet to find any good salvage yards that have anything older than 80’s.
