Who drives a SD as DD and don't....
Tow anything or very little at all. But Bought it for the big truck aspect and extra power. Or for the 4x4 big off road truck. Oh, and with a gas motor.
Reason for asking, is that I tow very little. But when I do it is a Fl to NC or to TX. 25' camper once a year. Short trips rest of the time 50 miles or so. A couple times a year. Ball hitch trailer. But I like to off road a lot. Hill climb dirt and mud. Some smaller creek crossing. Sand is deep around here but not a desert. With a 150 a lift is almost a given, however a 250 it is not that big a deal. A 4" would be plenty where we go. Any body else have one for this or consider this for the reason to get a 250 over a 150. Thanks. Oh, we take wifes SUV on round town stuff, short trips, etc.

I don't tow much as mentioned but I want a 250 cause it is a big truck. I have had all flavors of 150's and I guess as Joe Bloomingdale mentioned is I want a tuff truck to last me a long time. NOT saying a 150 will not, but most 250 owners will attest is once you go SD you don't go back, at least from what I have read here. Don't get me wrong, I love the comfy ride and upscale interiors. Now you can have that and your big truck too. Kinda like havin your cake and...know what I mean. My wife says get what ya want this time around not so much what ya need to be responsible and stay with a 150 because it makes more sense. Something only a truck person would understand. I suppose.

I've been daily driving V10 Excursions since 2009, current one sees 200-300 miles a week at 8-10mpg. I do have a small travel trailer but the truck is very much overkill. I got one because I wanted one pure and simple. Plus my old '00 saved me from worse injury during a 35mph head on crash in 2010.

I use my F250/5.4L/stock height/stock tire size as a daily driver and go offroad/hunting several times a year. I am a bigger guy so the super duty fits me better. My commute is only 22KM per day so the bad mileage is not a factor for me. Before buying this used 2000 F250 my shop bought some 2013 F150s as shop trucks and I have to say they were just to "car like" for my liking

I don't have a SD. But i have a f150 4x4 with large size tires.. 10-12 miles per gallon. And i drive about 220 miles a week. Just to work and back. Just use the truck for plowing when the time comes.. Maybe 10 times a winter.
I was going to get rid of it because of the gas prices but, i went on a limb and I Converted it to CNG so it will run on either gasoline or CNG.
Gasoline
220 Miles a week / 12mpg = 18.3 gallons gasoline x 3.75 a gallon = $68.75 a week
CNG
220 / 12 = 18.3 of CNG x 1.32 a gallon = $ 24.15
My MPG Hog is cheaper than my wifes zx5 focus.. She is about the same mileage per week as me and puts $46 in her car every week.
SOOO,, I went from selling the gas pig to it being our main driver.. The truck is always running now for running around town and shopping. You do have options for Gas Pigs
The 01 f250 7.3 pic in my avatar is my Baby.. All she does is come on on sunny days and pull the 5th wheel.

I DD mine when the Ranger is broken. I do not own a trailer and my truck didn't even come with a hitch. I bought because it was rust free in the rust belt and well cared for. Other than that, I chose super duty because I wanted solid axles front and rear for simplicity. And I think they look way better than the F150 and from my experience get near similar mileage.

My summer time DD, whether I'm towing anything or not, but I admit I did buy it with towing in mind. I just don't care if I have anything to tow at any given moment. I'd rather drive this than pretty much anything else. It's unlifted with factory size tires. Big tires and lifts are pretty much counter-productive when you want to tow and tow heavy.
