Need 223 head in Maryland

OK Now I really need help. I live in Maryland so keep that in mind. My son found out last night that the head on the '55 233 straight 6 is cracked. He is in this class and he has 3 nights a week until the end of April to finish the motor. It is at the machine shop currently and now I now need a head for this motor. Does anyone know of a good one or some where that I can get one realtively quick and not costing an arm and a leg? I guess it's good that we are finding this stuff out, but the truck was running before we took it apart and I really didn't think we were going to get into all of these problems. Any help is appreciated. If I need to buy the whole motor then I guess I'll have to do that. I would prefer to buy something that is know good.

I also need the specs for the cam if anyone has those.

Thanks for any help!

I once shipped a 215 head from CA to FL. It was about $60-70 to ship.

Also check with fellow MD FTE'rs. There's bound to be someone nearby that might know something.
Maybe even post in the MD Chapter.

Big M Automotive in Willits, CA has a ton of mid 50 cars and some trucks with 223 engines. If all else fails, you can contact them.

Also, from what I remember, 215 heads may be the same as 223, but I need to check the parts manual to be certain. I knew I should have kept the heads off of the three 215 motors that I scrapped a few months ago.

Ford parts catalog shows different numbers for 215 and 223 heads. Probably don't interchange properly.
