Motorcraft or Auto store/China fuel filter?

My truck is 04 F250 6.0. Ok so the Motorcraft filters are $60 for the frame and upper engine. Is it ok to use an auto parts store filter? I know everyone on here is OEM everything which I do on almost everything on my truck. But darn them Motorcraft filters are high dollar. Any concerns with the cheap $20 ones that seem to look the same?? If not where is a cheap web page with Motorcraft that is the best price.

no--OEM only
think about it--you only have to change the fuel filters every 10k or 15k miles--the price per mile is very minimal and will keep you from having issues with the engine.

A good code for advance autoparts is TRT30. This will give you 30% off up to $50 saved. You look them up and pay online, print out your receipt and then cruise to the store and pick them up. If you need to spend more than $150, break it up into mulitple orders to maximize your savings.

I just ordered at Advance with code TRT25 and it takes $20 off. Was $55.99 now $35.99. Going to pick up in store. Way better than $60+ at the Ford house.

Oh since we are on the subject of being cheap. I found that Walmart has the 5 quart Motorcraft oil 15w 40 for $17.23, FYI.

Set them side by side the lower filter in the frame is a different shape between oem and aftermarket. On the aftermarket there is a lip and oring missing flat not there. Plus the oem has another layer wrapped around it that is supose to repel water from going thru. $60 bucks for 8-10k miles really is not expensive.

There have been many threads about problems with non original equipment filters. From injectors to fuel pump problems. Purchase my filters from a local IH truck dealer for a better price than ford. As ford buys from IH. Same racor#s inside the box.
These engines are very sensitive to fuel pressure and volume so don't please go cheap as it could cost a lot more in the future.
