Kelley Blue Book

Based on the KBB value, looks like they are asking $5k over value (probably for Mods) but seems a bit high.

Thxs man Would it be worth buying for 25k? And I heard these engines and the year they were made had some issues... is that true?

The best thing to do is take it for a test drive, and have a mechanic you trust check it out. Make sure that it has had proper maintenance done to it, even better if the owner has records. There are some issues with the engines made during this model, however not every owner experiences the same issues; some even own the truck long-term and don't experience the issues at all. I believe that most would agree than an EGR delete does wonders for the 6.0L diesels.

44k on any '05 is very low - on a diesel hardly broken in - \I would check this.

Oh ok so buying the truck is a risk that I would have to take? Does the 05 f350 have the same problems? 6.0 power stroke.... Is it just better off buying a newer truck?

Wow, almost 30,000 for 9 year old trucks? You can almost buy a new truck for that.

If nothing has been done to those engines expect another 10k in repairs. So now it's up to 40k, just buy a new truck.

As others say, for the money buy a new one. Plus I don't buy anything from craigslist. Nothing but scammers/liars. JMO!

Also remember that if your getting a loan the bank doesn't care how much add ons it has, they base their loan off of what the truck books at and anything above that is on you. That's one problem with so much add ons you'll never see the cash back out of it when you sell it.

My $.02 is that this vehicle is *way* overpriced. If you want a 6.0 truck, look at '06 or '07 models first. Then (as others have suggested) plan to spend some dollars fixing the problems that the original owner had.

Spend some time on Kelly's Blue Book or similar sites and price that vehicle out. You will find that it has a trade-in value of 12K or so. Make your decision based on that starting point.

Yes, overpriced. I realize my 2012 is a 6.2 gas so it's cheaper than the diesel but when I bought it with 18k miles on it I paid $31k, from a dealership, and that's in the DC metro area where vehicles are priced just about as high as anywhere.
