Cool seriously need some guidence alost of crap going wrong at one time

I have a 1989 f -150 4x4 with the 4.9l when I got the truck it had 33in tires on it going down the road (flat road ) it would struggle to maintain 65 mph in 4th gear (its a 5spd) so I took the 33s off and now have 31s on it and it maintains a lot better on the hwy and I can actually hit 5th gear. So after that the next day the dang tranny starts leaking and its leaking good to so what now I have no idea where its leaking from or no idea what to do someone plz shed a lil light on it

Where on the tranny is it leaking from? It could be a lot of things and I can't really say what without knowing where the leak is. Power wise is it running well or does the engine not sounds good?

the leak

it is leaking right up under the cab of the truck from what I can tell its close to the back of the tranny and running it hesitates like it may have trash in the fuel lines I can get on the gas and it will hesitate and the harder I press on the gas it finally clears up and does fine but when I just rev it up it never hesitates it idles like it should so I don't know

Are you getting any codes? It could be clogged fuel filter or a vacuum leak. And the transmission is definitely not leaking from around the pan correct? If it is that would be an easy fix. Also how badly is it leaking, is the fluid level in the trans going down noticeably each day?

the leak

I just went out there and checked the bottom of the pan and it looks like its coming from the top of tranny idk but the bottom is definatly wet and as far as the fluid level how do you check the level?

You have the Mazda M5OD tranny, it has some shift rail plugs that will leak out your tranny oil and could burn up your transmission!

Search the forums about it.
