I'm in the same boat. Trying to help my Dad with the '98 F150 with a blown 4.2L. Looking at putting a newer 4.2L essex motor in it and wondering what issues I will encounter doing a swap to a newer 4.2L. I am hoping I can switch over all the '98 intake, fuel rails, covers, acc pulleys and brackets to a newer 4.2L. I have searched and searched and haven't come across anything definitive. Anyone else tried this - problems, issues? THanks!
