Cold start issues... I need help
I am having cold start problems that I cant get figured out. Can you guys help please. It all started when we had below zero weather and I couldn't get started. If I keep plugged in, it will start, but if not what happens is when it is around 30 degrees and I try to start it is like I loose connection to the batteries and it don't even turn over then its like you hear the starter disengage and sometimes when you try it again it will then turn over and start fine. I have replaced the Starter, glow plugs and harness gaskets, both batteries and the alternator. I am well over $1000 into this and cant afford much more. Can anyone help here? 2002 7.3 Super Duty

Welcome to FTE. What kind of shape are your battery cables in? Next time you have issues, turn the key to start and hold it there for 10 or 15 seconds if nothing is happening. Then quickly jump out and feel the battery cables to see if anything is hot to the touch. A hot cable means you've got an issue there. Either corrosion or a loose connection.
It would also be a good idea to check and clean all your ground connections since those can corrode or become loose and cause a no start.
