Help me with my FICM

Ok, I am new here. Just bought my 05 f250 four weeks ago. I have been reading a lot of stuff on here. Before I bought and after. I got an oasis report before I bought the truck and all looked good. I took the truck on a trip from Boise ID to Eugene OR. Everything seems fine, ran good, good mpgs(18). I buy a scangauge and it shows my FICM while driving is jumping around from 30-46 and it seems like the motor is running fine. The Oasis showed that the dealer replaced the FICM in 09 along with the #2 injector. What's the story? Pull it off and send it in to that Ed guy? Why? What's gonna happen? I have another 300 mile r/t this next Saturday. Confused!! Help!!

Your FICM is failing. Anytime the voltage falls below 45V it's failing on the power side. Ed@Ficmrepair.com will get you fixed up as quick as is humanly possible. He has an exchange program if you can't be without your truck. Give him a call FICM Repair.com - Your Source for FICM Repair

First off I did not intend to post this multiple times! Lol
I understand it's failing. What will it start doing that it's not doing now? What can I expect?

It will eventually quit without warning.

Chances are they may or may not pay for it.

If they do decide to pay for it, have them replace the half-shell. This way the FICM programming that allows you the 18 mpg you're getting now stays. They may also reflash your truck to the most current strategy which is VXCF9 and known to severely limit the FICM and as a result mpg. You can prevent them from flashing it by putting a lock on the OBD II connector.

If they don't pay for it, you can always send it off to ED and get it repaired with the Atlas 40 or you can have him repair your half shell and retain the programming you have on it now.

If they pay for it I am just going to have my mechanic send it to Ed and then bill the warranty for the work Ed does. If they don't pay I will take it off and send it my self. Is the tune worth the extra $150?

18mpg?, i'd send it to ed. Very affordable, and you dont want to risk going from 18 to 12mpg.

Atlas 40 will make it better. It's worth it in my opinion. I have it on my F350. You need to send to Ed yourself, preferable over each a mechanic. Also, with no other rubles, get Ed to send you one, then send your core back it's easy enough to do. Just read up on it and be prepared to deal with connectors that may crack.

I also have the Atlas 40. Spend a little extra for the warranty and you'll live the difference in power and will have the comfort of knowing Ed will be thereof you have a problem down the road

What is your battery voltage while running down the road and during cranking and right after starting?

Good call...

The Atlas 40 is worth the extra money for the performance, power, fuel economy, and the fact that it "relieves" the FICM of the restrictions Ford puts in.

The batteries are new. I will check the volts when cranking and what the alternator is when I get home today.

And how will I know if the alternator is stock or not?
