Hey everybody, would like some idea what axle is installed if possible from the VIN. It has two sets of leaves in the back. Was that factory? Rides like a logging truck without some weight in back.

Edit. See that I posted this in the unibody forum, that nobody ever reads. Oh well.

F10 = F100 2WD

C = 292 2V

K = Kansas City MO Assembly Plant.

558537 = 1964, assembled June 1964 (it's not a Uni).

128" Wheelbase.

V = Academy Blue.

F100 2WD, 5,000 lbs. GVWR

281: 2 = Medium Blue Crush Vinyl & Medium Blue Rib Vinyl // 81 = 81A Standard Cab.

A = Ford type 3.03 3 Speed Manual all Syncromesh Transmission.

11 = Ford 9" Rear Axle / 3.70-1 / No Limited Slip / 3,300 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

5,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

135 net HP @ 3,800 RPM

52 = Des Moines IA Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

1964 F100 2WD could have a 5 leaf spring pack w/a 950 lb. load rate or a 6 leaf spring pack w/a 1250 lb. load rate. An auxillary spring (1 leaf) was optional for both.

The rear springs are the same 1957/67 F100 2WD, so there are other leaf spring packs that could be used.
