5.4 performance ignition

I have a 99 eb with the 5.4 and I was thinking about putting a performance ignition system(jacobs, msd). But because the 5.4 has a coil pak for each plug, I want to know if anyone has done this and if it made a difference ? , I have had noting but problems with the coil paks. Condensation and water go in the #4 and short it out, and sometimes a few other coil paks also. I want to change the system to high performance one to eliminate this problem.

I would also like to know if anyone has done this and I have a 99 f150 with a 5.4l v8. I have been told that since the engine uses coil packs you would see no difference but I have also been told that it can help your fuel economy. If anyone has done this have you seen any increase in gas mileage or power?
