2bbl? On a 460? I thought 460s only came with 4bbls. My automatic guess is a motorcraft 2100 or 2150 but...we could use a picture of it...

Welcome to FTE

460's installed in 1973/79 F100/350's all came with 4V's, either a Holley or a Motorcraft, depending on the year.

But, if the engine has been swapped, it could be from a car and it also could be a 429.

Cars with 429/460's could have either a 2V or 4V carburetor.

Triangular shaped carb ID tag bolted to airhorn, but many are missing by now. Look on the base of the carb, there may be a stamped ID number.

1973/79 F100/350: Engine code 4th digit of VIN: J = 460 4V / 429/460's have 7 valve cover bolts per side.

Thank you all for the input. It is a Carter carb. The motor is originally out of a 74 mercury Marquis.

How do you know it's a 2150?

2100 used 1962/74, 2150 introduced in 1975.

The 460 may be from a 1974 Marquis, but the 2V intake manifold is likely from a 1968/73 429.

Look on the manifold for an ID number, post what it is.

The 2150 has the automatic choke which mine does (although it is broken at the moment). As for id number on manifold im sure it is located underneath several years of grease and dust combined. I'm working on the clean up now. Also lots of plugged vacuum lines that I have no idea why they are there.

Left Upper: 2100 (1970/74) / Right: 2150 / Left Lower: 2100 (1965/69).

Notice the choke pull-off diaphragm located at the right on the airhorn.

This diaphragm was only used on 1970/74 2100 series carbs.

See 9J549 in left upper parts catalog pic in post 9.

How in the blazes can you tell anything from them tiny pic's Bill?
I can barely even tell it's a carb. And I know my peepers are better
than yours. You must have like a 60 inch screen, right?

If you had looked up this jazz for 40+ years in Ford parts catalogs like I have...then you would know what to look for.

And I know my peepers are better than yours.
Uh huh...

27" to be exact.

4/2013: Bought a new desktop, monitor, wireless mouse and keyboard, printer/fax, 'magic wand' scanner and a 6' desk to put all this crap on.

If on a PC, hold down your CTRL key and then turn the finger wheel forward on your mouse.... watch the magic happen.
