How to get in and out of 4-Low?
I'm having a blonde-moment!
I rarely use 4WD-LOW now I need it and can't remember what the owners manual says about how to get in and out of it!! It's a long story, but I left the owners manual at work and I want to use 4-low to pull a boat out of the yard. I frequently use 4-high, but I do remember getting in and out of low is different and I don't want to risk damage experimenting.
Go ahead and have a laugh at my expense, but someone please tell me what the book says....please?

That's what I thought - I tried that and the "4X4 LOW" light on the dash just flashed. After switching to 4-LOW while in Neutral, I put it in Drive and in Reverse and the "4X4 LOW" light on the dash just kept blinking. That's when I stopped and posted the question here.

Brk pedal has to be depressed as mentioned
Preferrably on level ground in Neutral with steering wheel strait.
If driveline is in the least bind, elc shift motor isn't strong enough to engage.
Back up 1-2 feet & retry. If still no engagement - pull forward 1-2 feet & retry.
X-fer case has to be in 4x4 high, THEN shifted into Low.
The elc shift motor needs to used monthly to keep it limbered up.
Not necessarily driven in 4x4, just shifted into lo & hi.
Just my .02 cents worth
