Manual steering and tire width.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on buying some new wheels for my F-1. I was looking to go a little wider than stock. It was brought to my attention that the wider I go on tires, the more difficult the steering.

So, I'm looking for some opinions here. How wide is too wide?

I'm running P235/75-15's, I'd have to say that's about the limit if you do a lot of parking. On the road no issues.

I got the same setup, manual. And I agree, parking is a pain! But with high airpressure and well greased bushings is the key, but still parking makes the heart rate increase

Thanks. I'll probably stay just under that width. (225).

Stock, and definitely more of a cruiser.

Like back in the old days, when everything had manual steering, make sure you're moving when turning.

Our 52 had 235s and they were pretty tough for my wife. Changed to 225s and it is much better.

What he said about moving. I drove before power steering was common and still driving WO PS. I have an F350 and F4, neither of which has PS or PB for that matter. They do both have the big old original 18" steering wheel.

P235 = Passenger

Truck tires that wide and size are 8+ ply and ride like Flintstone tires IMO
