I'm pretty intimidated after reading some threads about removing leafs to lower the truck.
I want to remove 4 leafs per pack for about 3.5 inches of drop. I can pay someone to do that also if its an option.
thanks
I don't know what your truck is but on my 1950 F2 I got a 3" drop by getting new springs from Posie's Rod and Custom (see top of page 39). I used Dual Flex D152F in the front and Super Slider 152R in the rear. You could get a bit more drop in the rear by using Dual Flex D152R. Posie's will tell you how much you can expect. The results will be better than removing leaves.
Your spring shackle pins may be pretty worn also (see attached picture of mine).
Like Doc Says, what are you intimidated by? You mention Central Florida, but your profile shows MI, are you a transplant also?
I don't have a lot of room to work and I can't do it in my driveway due to the slope and HOA... Yes, I moved from michigan to orlando about 5 years ago.
Ok, I found a shop. I know its been covered a million times.... If I take out every other leaf, that leaves 5 in the rear and 5 in the front. I have 8 springs, 7 of which are removable. Is that correct? Can I get 2-3 of drop? (I would prefer 3-4")
I've read a ton of threads, but not too many of them speak about the front. Also, it looks like mid-fifty has removed the ref for leafs and drop.
Snip-SNIP--. Also, it looks like mid-fifty has removed the ref for leafs and drop.
Mid-fifty has the chart in their various yearly catalogs, the most recent 2014 pdf on page 142 is the 'listing' and on page 145 at the bottom is a boxed area regarding your specific endeavor. The page numbers will vary slightly in prior year catalogs but, the info is still the same.
