New member, new to the blue oval, new to the chapter.

Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself, name is Dave, just recently joined FTE and the SoCal chapter.

Just recently rescued 3 old bumps from untimely deaths, so I thought I would hop on here, learn a lot and have some fun along the way.

Picked up a '67 F250, a '70 F250 and a '71 F100, all running and on the road, they just need some TLC and can live another 40 or so years.

Going to be taking some time with my kids to get them all safe and reliable, and kids will drive 2, I am keeping the '70 for myself.

Anyway, looking forward to all I can learn and enjoy here,

Thanks.

That would be cool....going to take a few weekends (or more) to make sure I am comfortable taking this monster over the grapevine.

Yup, very bad....searched out mine, the 70, the a friends daughter saw it and fell in love with it...surprised me, a 21 year old college girl wanting an old pickup.

So, I found the 67 and she has been driving it since the day we brought it home. Takes it to school and work, and on weekends takes it mudding and when she goes shooting....go figure.

Then my son comes rolling in one day, and says.."cool truck, is it mine?" of course, I said "no". He said he wanted it, and would work off the price, again told him no.

Went later that day to get my Jeep smogged, and my buddy that does all my shop work that I don't want to or can't do, says to me.."Look at what my brother in law just dropped off here" Low and behold, a '71 F100 with a 360, power brake and power steering conversion already done, ran real nice too.

Asked him what it cost him, he said nothing, brother in law just wanted it out of his driveway. Jokingly, I said I would give him $500 for it, he says, cash, or should I just add it to your bill.

Picked up mine at the end of Oct '13...rescued it from a life of a gardener truck, found the 67 the middle of Jan '14 and then the '71 in Feb of '14.

Since that, I have found 7 more, hoping to find one or two as donors, but all are still on the road as daily drivers....can't bring myself to buy and butcher nice, running productive trucks, so I have been living at the scrapyard, with very little luck.

So now there are 3
